Examination Scheme, Progress Report and Promotion Criteria

Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) The original and all round personality of a child can be developed

only when he/she is given a chance to present his/her own imagination, attitude, creativity and interests through

various activities. And for all this CBSE has come up with a new evaluation system called CCE (Continuous

Comprehensive Evaluation). It is divided in two parts :-

1. Scholastic

2. Co-Scholastic

SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT

Scholastic has two types of assessments :-

1.  Formative assessment (FA)                   2.    Summative Assessment (SA)

The complete year has two terms and each term has two FAs and one SA.

First Term (April to September)

FA1 – May                           FA2 – Aug.                         SA1 – Sep.

Second Term (October to March)

FA3 – Oct.                           FA4 – Dec.                           SA2 – Mar.

  Each  FA  is  10%,  SA1  of  30%  and  SA2  of  30%

FA's include variety of techniques of assessment viz written and oral both like Group Discussion, Declamation, Quiz,

Debate, Class Work, Home Work, Recitation & Projects etc. Summative Assessment will purely be based on written

examination and Multi-choice Questions (MCQs) included in it. ASL & OTBA are a part of Class-IX and

  Class-XI Examinations.

Both these assessments are reflected through Nine point grades as given below :

Scholastic B

Scholastic B has Art Education, Health Education/Sports, Attendance, Work Experience Class Work and Home Work

of children that will be assessed by the teachers regularly and reflected in   report card with descriptive indicators  and

   grades.

CO-SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT

Co-Scholastic Assessment is divided into 3 parts.

1- Life skills in which the thinking, social and emotional skills of children about themselves, their schoolmates and society

etc. would be assessed and reflected through grades A+, A, B+, B and C.

2- Attitude of the child towards Teachers, Schoolmates, School Programmes, Environment, School Property, his/her Honesty

and Sincerity etc. would be assessed continuosly and in a   comprehensive manner with grades A+, A and B.

3- Activities

Part A

Any two of the following activities like literary and creative skills, scientific skills, aesthetic and performing arts (Dance,

Drama), Clubs, Eco, Language, Science, Press etc. would also be assessed   through grades A+, A and B.

Part B

It includes – Gymnastics, First Aid, Sports, Scouts and Guides or NCC/NSS etc. Any two of the above mentioned activities

would be assessed through grades A+, A and B.

Thus promotion is based on day to day work of the students throughout the year and also on the performance in the

   terminal examinations.
